It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Our Lady of Good Counsel Falcons ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Archbishop Carroll and snuck past 51-48. The win was familiar territory for Our Lady of Good Counsel who now have three in a row.
Our Lady of Good Counsel's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caliyah Devillasee led the charge by scoring 27 points along with six rebounds. Devillasee has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Talayah Walker, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aliyah Duncan, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Tiayo Adelekan was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds.
Our Lady of Good Counsel has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Archbishop Carroll, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-5.

As for Archbishop Carroll, they will square off against Bishop O'Connell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Archbishop Carroll focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Friday.
