The St. Joseph Academy Flashes will be playing in front of their home fans against the Legacy Charter Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
St. Joseph Academy fell victim to Eastside's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Rams 43-0. While losing is never fun, St. Joseph Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 496th, while Eastside is ranked 198th).
Meanwhile, Legacy Charter had to suffer through a rough 37-7 loss at the hands of Orangewood Christian. Legacy Charter was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Despite the defeat, Legacy Charter got a solid performance out of Shazarr Roberts, who gained 100 total yards and a touchdown.
This is the second loss in a row for St. Joseph Academy and nudges their season record down to 2-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 7.0 points per game. As for Legacy Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
St. Joseph Academy was dealt a bruising 41-0 defeat at the hands of Legacy Charter when the teams last played back in September of 2021. Thankfully for St. Joseph Academy, Jayden Colon (who rushed for 29 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 155 yards and a touchdown on only nine passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
