After two games on the road, Broken Arrow is heading back home. They will take on the Ponca City Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Broken Arrow faced the Yellowjackets in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Broken Arrow skirted past the Yellowjackets 55-53.
Meanwhile, Ponca City's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They lost to Bixby on the road by a decisive 74-57 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (55), Ponca City still had to take the loss.
Tay Moore put forth a good effort for the losing side as he almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 43.9% of Ponca City's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Adriel Miller was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Broken Arrow is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Ponca City, they dropped their record down to 3-14 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Broken Arrow against the Wildcats in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 60-32 victory. Will Broken Arrow repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
