This season hasn't been kind to the Union County Fightin' Tigers, who are still winless after their eighth game. They were outmatched by Lafayette at home and fell 56-17. Union County has not had much luck with Lafayette recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Lafayette was led to victory by Havyn Richardson and Kiley Beach. Richardson scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Beach scored 17 points along with two steals. Richardson hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Bre Roberson, who scored two points along with seven steals.
Union County's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-8. As for Lafayette, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Union County will head out on the road to face off against Williston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Williston focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday. As for Lafayette, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bell at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
