Brady Goodman Turns in Season-Best  Performance
 Mountain View was led to victory by  Brady Goodman, who turned in his biggest game of the season  on Thursday. Goodman threw for 150 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown, good enough to  set a new career-high in  rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere:  he has now  passed for three or more in the last five games he's  played dating back to last season.
 The  win (which was Mountain View's third in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Goodman and Mountain View will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Mesa at 7:00  p.m.  on October 18th.

Andrew Hines Delivers Best  Effort of Season
 Sadly,  Andrew Hines posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Desert Ridge over Cesar Chavez on Thursday. Hines picked up  three  sacks, forced a fumble,  and made seven total tackles.
 Desert Ridge is  on  an  eight-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6. Hines and Desert Ridge will have a little extra prep time after the  loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Tolleson at 7:00  p.m.  on October 18th.

 Winning always takes teamwork, but  on Thursday  Myles Johnson stepped things up a notch to give Cesar Chavez the 'W'. Johnson was unstoppable, rushing for 43 yards and a touchdown. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making seven total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending a pass.
 Cesar Chavez's win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 4-2. Johnson and Cesar Chavez will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Westwood at 7:00  p.m.  on October 17th.

Tyes Graves Delivers Electric  Performance Vs Desert Ridge
 Keeping Johnson company is  Tyes Graves, a fellow Cesar Chavez player. He picked up  a  sack and made 14 total tackles. He is  on a roll when it comes to  total tackles, as he's  now  made six or more in the last six games he's  played dating back to last season.
 This season,  Graves  has averaged 9.2 total tackles per game  and for the season has 3.5 sacks. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season,  he was only averaging three  total tackles per game.
