Jaila Ellis was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run.
As for Prairie, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Considering they have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Heritage, Prairie also got a great game from a two-way player: Mackenzie Moore. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Moore was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Kylie Moore was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Ashlee Porter was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
