The Williamsburg Blue Pirates will take on the Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
On Saturday, Williamsburg got the win against Southern Huntingdon County by a conclusive 11-4. The win continues a trend for the Blue Pirates in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won three in a row.
Konner Harker made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Harker was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Logan Brantner was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Preston Long, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Williamsburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .343 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Claysburg-Kimmel got themselves on the board against Forbes Road on Monday, but Forbes Road never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 19-0 margin over Forbes Road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.
The team relied heavily on Mason Campagna, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Soler, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Williamsburg now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Williamsburg has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. However, it's not like Claysburg-Kimmel struggles in that department as they've averaged .500. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
