Baseball Recap: Patrician Academy Has No Trouble Against South Choctaw Academy

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Patrician Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the South Choctaw Academy Rebels as the Patrician Academy Saints made off with a 10-4 win. Considering the Saints have won three games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Bryson Reid made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Patrician Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Reid was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Matthew Mize, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Patrician Academy is undefeated when Mize posts two or more runs, but 0-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Pryce Adams, who went 2-for-6 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double.

Patrician Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Choctaw Academy only managed five hits.

With the victory, Patrician Academy broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5. As for South Choctaw Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Patrician Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Southern Academy at 4:00 p.m. on March 22nd. South Choctaw Academy will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Snook Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on March 21st.
