After flying high against the Banff Bears last Thursday, the Humble Christian Cougars came back down to earth. Humble Christian ended up on the wrong side of a rough 63-39 walloping at the hands of Annapolis Christian Academy on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Humble Christian has suffered yet this season.
When it comes to explaining why Humble Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Noah Vickers. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Baylee Sandvig, who scored five points along with three steals.
Joshua Cavazos was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and six assists for Annapolis Christian Academy. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Gwaltney, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Humble Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Annapolis Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Humble Christian and Texas Christian will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Annapolis Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against School of the Woods at 3:30 p.m. on January 20th.
