The Dixon Bulldogs will challenge the Jacksonville Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dixon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Jacksonville will be up against a hot Dixon team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Dixon blew past Havelock 11-1 on Friday.

| 03/14/25 @ Havelock | 1 |

Chris Tesgle was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Dixon is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 0-3 otherwise. Tesgle was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Dixon let Shawn Almeida and Nick Lacugna run wild. Almeida went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Lacugna went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That triple was Almeida's first of the season. Bryson Ponsock was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Dixon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Havelock only posted an OBP of .211.
Meanwhile, Jacksonville came up short against Havelock on Tuesday and fell 6-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Cardinals in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost three in a row.
Jacksonville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaiden Cox, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Jacksonville's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Dixon, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Dixon has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Jacksonville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Dixon couldn't quite finish off Jacksonville when the teams last played back in April of 2017 and fell 2-0. Will Dixon have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
