Granville Central has had a week off and is no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will face off against Manteo in a playoff matchup on Friday. Granville Central has a defense that allows only 17.45 points per game, so Manteo's offense will have their work cut out for them.
The Panthers were close but no cigar two weeks ago as they fell 23-20 to South Granville.
Meanwhile, Manteo earned some postseason bragging rights after a successful outing last Thursday. They put the hurt on Riverside with a sharp 55-26 victory. Wolfie Schultz had a stellar game for Manteo as he rushed for 175 yards and three TDs on 24 carries. That nimble footwork stands out as the first time Schultz has hit the 100-yard rushing mark this season. Schultz's sharp performance also set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season.
Manteo's win lifted them to 10-2 while Granville Central's defeat dropped them down to 7-4. We'll see if Manteo can repeat their recent success or if Granville Central bounces back and reverse their fortune.
