The Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes lost against the West Ashley Wildcats last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Ashley Ridge fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 54-51. Ashley Ridge has struggled against the Wildcats recently, as their game on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Ashley Ridge still got an impressive performance from Jahlil Hope, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Hope hasn't dropped below 16 points for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Clayton Everett, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
West Ashley found their leader in underclassman Kendall Mack, who scored 20 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mack has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Damani White, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Ashley Ridge has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season. As for West Ashley, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-7.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Summerville the next time they take the court. West Ashley will head out to face Summerville at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, while Ashley Ridge will head out to face them at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
