Basketball Recap: Bartram Trail Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

Ponte Vedra came into Monday's contest looking for another win against Bartram Trail, but Alyssa Donohue wouldn't allow it. The Bartram Trail Bears enjoyed a cozy 54-37 win over the Ponte Vedra Sharks on Monday thanks in part to Donohue, who went 12 of 27 on her way to 29 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Alana Larson was another key player, putting up six points and five boards. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

Despite the defeat, Ponte Vedra saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Camila Felsing posted 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Ellie Walsh also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Bartram Trail is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Ponte Vedra, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Bartram Trail wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 70-34 loss against Bolles on the 15th. Ponte Vedra has also already played their next game, a 67-17 victory against First Coast on the 16th.
