The Holy Cross Knights had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They managed a 43-37 victory over Texas School for the Deaf. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Holy Cross also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Holy Cross had a senior duo take command as Emma Garcia scored 16 points and Jenna Arugello scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Garcia has scored all season.
Several Rangers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Evangeline Diaz, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Trinity Bradley was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Holy Cross has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Texas School for the Deaf, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-10.
Holy Cross will head out on the road to challenge the Guardians at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. John Paul II has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 28. As for Texas School for the Deaf, they will be playing at home against the Archers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Founders Classical Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
