The Harbor Creek Huskies had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 65-59 W over Meadville on Friday. The win was just what Harbor Creek needed coming off of a 74-53 loss in their prior contest.
Harbor Creek was led to victory by JT Delsandro and Tucker Chwatek. Delsandro scored 21 points along with two steals, while Chwatek dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Chwatek continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Hayden Dylewski, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lucas Luteran, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Luteran has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Burchard, who scored 21 points along with two steals.
Harbor Creek now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Meadville, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harbor Creek will square off against Erie at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Erie presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Harbor Creek in Pennsylvania (Erie is ranked 112th, while Harbor Creek is ranked 245th). Meadville on the road again on Tuesday and play against Cathedral Prep at 7:15 p.m. on January 16th. Cathedral Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 537 points over their last eight contests.
