After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Worth County, the Cook Hornets were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They managed a 59-55 victory over Jeff Davis. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Cook got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Reshauld Tippins out in front who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Keshun McKever, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Amari Jackson, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of A.J. Hunt, who scored 11 points.
Cook's win bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Jeff Davis, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.
Cook will look to defend their home court on Friday against Clinch County at 7:30 p.m. Clinch County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Jeff Davis, they will head out on the road to square off against Fitzgerald at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Fitzgerald's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Jeff Davis has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
