The Irondequoit Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They managed a 58-54 victory over Spencerport. The win was a breath of fresh air for Irondequoit as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
Leading Irondequoit to victory were Aubrey Smith and Kailey Besio. Smith scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and five assists, while Besio went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 0 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Besio has scored at least a third of Irondequoit's points. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Tytler, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Irondequoit's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-11. As for Spencerport, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Irondequoit will face off against Brockport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Spencerport will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Gates Chili at 7:15 p.m. on February 6th.
