Wheeler has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the South Central Satellites at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, everything went Wheeler's way against Victory Christian Academy as Wheeler made off with a 34-11 victory.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wheeler to victory, but perhaps none more so than Izabela Schumacher, who scored 7 points along with 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Lukawski, who scored 7 points along with 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, South Central beat Washington Township 40-35 on Thursday.
Sadie Marks continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of South Central's points. Another player making a difference was Hope Welsh, who scored 9 points.
Wheeler pushed their record up to 3-7 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for South Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Wheeler was taken down by South Central 45-15 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Thankfully for Wheeler, Olivia Marks (who scored 22 points along with 6 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
