The Plainville Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Hill City Ringnecks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Plainville is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 16-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Plainville took a serious blow against the Bluejays, falling 62-32. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Plainville in their matchups with the Bluejays: they've now lost eight in a row.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Hill City, who are still winless after their 12th game. They were outmatched by Rawlins County at home and fell 54-24. While losing is never fun, Hill City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 313th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 104th).
Plainville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Hill City, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.
Plainville came up short against the Ringnecks in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 35-24. Can Plainville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
