It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Deming Wildcats had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 33-0 victory over Goddard. The win was nothing new for Deming as they're now sitting on six straight.
Ryan Alfaro was a one-man wrecking crew for Deming as he rushed for 164 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Isaiah Pizarro also helped out as he racked up 112 rushing yards.
Deming is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Goddard, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.
Deming will be playing in front of their home fans against Roswell at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Roswell is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Goddard does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
