The Van Horn Eagles waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 35-25 victory over Sierra Blanca. That's another feather in the cap for Van Horn, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Van Horn's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Malia Bermudez, who scored 14 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bermudez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Georgi Sparks, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Van Horn pushed their record up to 15-7 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Sierra Blanca, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Van Horn will take on Dell City at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Dell City is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Sierra Blanca will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off.
