Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Highline Pirates, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 41-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Enumclaw on Friday. Highline's loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Tristan Donovan was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Donovan was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards. Seamus Twohey was in the mix as well, providing Enumclaw with two touchdowns.
Highline's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Enumclaw, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 12-0 record.
Highline does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Enumclaw will head out on the road to face off against Anacortes at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Anacortes is ranked 11th, while Enumclaw is ranked 19th).
