Basketball Recap: Seth Bledsoe's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cornerstone Prep Academy over Cherokee Christian

After flying high against Hearts Academy last Friday, Cornerstone Prep Academy came back down to earth. Cornerstone Prep Academy lost to the Cherokee Christian Warriors at home by a 71-56 margin on Friday. Cornerstone Prep Academy was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Cherokee Christian earlier this season, when they won 69-66.

Several Cornerstone Prep Academy players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Seth Bledsoe, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Bledsoe's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Simeon Greene was another key player, going 5 for 12 en route to 11 points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

Cornerstone Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Cherokee Christian, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-12 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Prep Academy will take on Johnson Ferry Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Cornerstone Prep Academy is facing Johnson Ferry Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Johnson Ferry Christian Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Cherokee Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against The King's Academy at 7:00 p.m. The King's Academy has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 237 points over their last three contests.
