Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Talihina). They never let the Cordell Blue Devils get on the board and left with a 24-0 win on Thursday. Considering the Golden Tigers have won nine matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Landen Griffith made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Talihina: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one hit, but 9-11 otherwise. Griffith was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.
In other pitching news, Kaden Cossey looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Talihina's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 5-2 (and 8-9 when he doesn't).
