Softball Recap: Rahway's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Rahway put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Plainfield Cardinals with a sharp 19-2 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Indians also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Jaylynn Soto was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Soto was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Rahway got a massive performance out of Yasmin Garcia, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave Garcia a new career-high. Emily Garcia was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Rahway always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .929. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .655 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Rahway's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Plainfield, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 1-1-1 and their overall record down to 1-2-1.

Coming up, Rahway will face off against Piscataway at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Plainfield, they will square off against New Brunswick at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
