Harvest Prep saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Akintomiwa Longe, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Grove City Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lakers a 13-0 shutout. Considering the Eagles have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Peyton Fillinger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jadunn Harris was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Tyler Benedum was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Grove City Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millersport only posted a batting average of .158.
Harvest Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Grove City Christian, they now have a winning record of 8-7-1.
Harvest Prep might still be hurting after the 23-0 defeat they got from Grove City Christian in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
