The Fort Bend Elkins Knights will be home for the holidays to greet the Fort Bend Hightower Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Fort Bend Elkins has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Fort Bend Hightower will arrive with three straight victories.
On Monday, Fort Bend Elkins came up short against Fort Bend Bush and fell 50-38.
Despite the loss, Fort Bend Elkins got a solid performance out of Paris Anderson, who scored 12 points. Anderson scored a full 31.6% of Fort Bend Elkins' points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cheyenne Trusclair, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Fort Bend Hightower scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They claimed a resounding 90-16 victory over George Ranch at home. Considering Fort Bend Hightower has won six games by more than 23 points this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Fort Bend Elkins now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Fort Bend Hightower, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2.
Fort Bend Elkins took a serious blow against Fort Bend Hightower in their previous meeting back in February, falling 57-29. Can Fort Bend Elkins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
