The Global Outreach Charter Academy Kodiaks came tearing into Thursday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 75-68 victory over KIPP Bold City. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Josue Rivera, who scored 26 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Martinez, who scored 13 points.
Joel Hunt and Jabari Green certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Hunt scored 15 points along with two steals, while Green scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Green posted two or more blocks. Mikell Reddick was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Global Outreach Charter Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for KIPP Bold City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Global Outreach Charter Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Parsons Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Parsons Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. KIPP Bold City's road trip will continue as they head out to face Baldwin at 8:00 p.m. on January 19th. Baldwin is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
