Even though the Geneva Knights scored an imposing 55 points on Thursday, the First Academy Eagles still came out on top. First Academy took down the Knights 71-55. The win made it back-to-back wins for First Academy.
Leading First Academy to victory were Rhett Walsh and Amari Smith. Walsh scored 25 points along with six steals and five rebounds, while Smith dropped a double-double on 17 points and 20 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Walsh has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Norflee, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
First Academy pushed their record up to 12-10 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Geneva, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.
First Academy will face off against the Wildcats at TBD on Tuesday. As for Geneva, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. City of Life Christian Academy is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
