Basketball Game Preview: Cienega Bobcats vs. Pueblo Warriors

The Cienega Bobcats will challenge the Pueblo Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Cienega's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Cienega is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Desert View: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Cienega blew Desert View out of the water with a 92-44 final score. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 26 points or more this season.

Cienega's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marcos Rodriguez, who posted 12 points. That's the most points Rodriguez has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Pascal Hussein, who went 6 of 12 en route to 16 points.

Cienega was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Pueblo fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 59-49 win over Flowing Wells on Thursday.

Cienega pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.2 points per game. As for Pueblo, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-14 record this season.
