The Calvary Christian Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Ludlow Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Calvary Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Calvary Christian had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Augusta on Friday. The Cougars blew past the Panthers 17-2. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.

Zoey Kugler made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. Kugler was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kennedy Wright was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. She has been hot, having posted three or more hits the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Todd, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Calvary Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .760. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Ludlow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 19-1 to Villa Madonna.
Ludlow saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shelby Ralston, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.
Calvary Christian's record is now 5-11. As for Ludlow, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.
Ludlow's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Calvary Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .402. It's a different story for Ludlow, though, as they've only averaged .243. Will they be able to contain Calvary Christian's hitters?
Calvary Christian suffered a grim 22-7 defeat to Ludlow when the teams last played back in March. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
