Stafford and King George are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. The Indians will head out on the road to square off against the Foxes at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Stafford has three straight victories, King George has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Stafford's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over Brooke Point.

Angela Dreistadt made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Dreistadt wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tru Shealy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Shealy also put up a run, which was her first of the season. Another was Bailey Fillis, who went 2-for-3 with one triple.
Stafford hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brooke Point struck out 12 times.
Meanwhile, King George didn't have quite enough to beat Culpeper County on Thursday and fell 8-7.
Paige Headley was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Kallie Slovack, who scored three runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Stafford's record now sits at 4-2. As for King George, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Stafford's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's contest. The Indians have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for King George, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Stafford continue to outrun the ball?
Stafford couldn't quite get it done against King George when the teams last played back in March as they fell 6-3. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
