The Resurrection Christian Cougars put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against East by a score of 54-46. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Resurrection Christian also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Resurrection Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Barker, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ty Yoder, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Resurrection Christian's win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.1 points per game. As for East, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-1.
Resurrection Christian will head out on the road to face off against St. Mary's at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. East will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rock Springs at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Rock Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Wyoming Rankings (they are ranked 54th, while East is ranked ninth).
