Millard South's four-game losing streak came to an end last Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 69-46 margin over Columbus. With Millard South ahead 38-18 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Millard South can attribute much of their success to Isaac Jensen, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds, and Bernie Anderson, who scored 16 points. Jensen set a new season high mark in steals with two. Sam Cooper was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Meanwhile, Creighton Prep waltzed into their matchup last Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 62-43 victory over Papillion-LaVista. That's two games straight that Creighton Prep has won by exactly 19 points.
Dillon Claussen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. The game was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Trinell Parker, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Millard South's record now sits at 2-4. As for Creighton Prep, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's matchup: Millard South have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 7.8 threes per game. It's a different story for Creighton Prep, though, as they've been averaging only 8.3 threes per game. Given Millard South's sizeable advantage in that area, Creighton Prep will need to find a way to close that gap.
