Canutillo is 0-10 against El Paso since September of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 6:40 p.m.
Canutillo is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since August 12th on Friday. They came up short against Jefferson, falling 3-0.
Canutillo was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-23, 25-22.

Despite the loss, Canutillo had strong showings from Sophia Ontiveros, who had 38 assists and five digs, and Hailey Pedregon, who had 15 digs. Ontiveros is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 23 games she's played.
Meanwhile, El Paso had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Mustangs.
El Paso was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (109-106), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-20, 25-23, 18-25, 18-16.
El Paso's victory bumped their record up to 20-12. As for Canutillo, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-13.
Canutillo might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from El Paso in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
