The Tift County Blue Devils came into Saturday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They pulled ahead with a 44-43 photo finish over Sumter County. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Tift County also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Tift County can attribute much of their success to TeShawn Bryant, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Bryant continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Fred White, who scored ten points along with two steals.
The win got Tift County back to even at 10-10. As for Sumter County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tift County will take on the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sumter County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Macon County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Panthers in Georgia (the Bulldogs are ranked 149th, while the Panthers are ranked 339th).
