Even though the Spring Creek Spartans have not done well against the Lowry Buckaroos recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Spring Creek walked away with a 70-63 win over the Buckaroos. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Carson Fisher continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Darren Bylund, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds.
Lowry's loss came despite strong showings from Matthew Casalez and Kasyn Garner. Casalez scored 23 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Garner scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Dempsey Jenkins was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Spring Creek's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Lowry, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.
Spring Creek will stay at home for another game and welcome the Greenwave at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th. Churchill County is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season. Lowry will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Indians at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th.
