The Kermit Yellow Jackets will face off against the Anthony Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Kermit's win against Tornillo wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Yellow Jackets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Coyotes on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Yellow Jackets in their matchups with the Coyotes: they've now won three in a row.

Isael Gonzales made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Emilian Bonilla was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Armando Urias, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, Anthony brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They came out on top against Tornillo on Friday by a score of 11-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). That looming 11-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wildcats yet this season.
Like Kermit, Anthony also got a great game from a two-way player: Austin Hernandez. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Hernandez also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Anthony is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-14 otherwise. Hernandez was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Abel Jimenez was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Alfonso Cisneros was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Anthony always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Anthony's victory bumped their record up to 6-15. As for Kermit, their win bumped their record up to 7-13.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Kermit hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342. However, it's not like Anthony struggles in that department as they've averaged .321. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Kermit beat Anthony 5-1 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Do the Yellow Jackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
