The Xavier College Prep Gators will face off against the Perry Pumas at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Xavier College Prep's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Perry has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Xavier College Prep's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Millennium with a sharp 14-0 victory. The Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by six runs or more this season.

Sariah McNabb was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and three doubles. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Noelani Romo, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.
McNabb wasn't the only one making solid contact: Xavier College Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Perry beat Saguaro 7-3 on Wednesday.
Brynlee Brassfield spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emily Gephart, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Hailey Estrella, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Xavier College Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Perry, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Xavier College Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Perry struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Xavier College Prep came out on top in a nail-biter against Perry in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-0. Do the Gators have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pumas turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
