On Saturday, Helena Christian came up short against Drummond and fell 51-39. Helena Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Drummond got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lexi Nelson out in front who scored 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Nelson has scored at least 25% of Drummond's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlee Cline, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Helena Christian now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Drummond, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Helena Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Petra Academy at 4:00 p.m. on February 9th. As for Drummond, they will head out on the road to face off against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
