The Brawley Wildcats won the last time they faced the Southwest EC Eagles, and things went their way on Friday too. Brawley sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-40 win over Southwest EC.
Leading Brawley to victory were Domanic Vallejo and Joaquin Lofton. Vallejo scored nine points along with three steals, while Lofton scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Lofton is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Desmond Thomas, who scored six points.
Brawley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. As for Southwest EC, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Holtville the next time they take the court. Brawley will host Holtville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while Southwest EC will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
