Basketball Recap: Yulee Has No Trouble Against Harvest Community

A well-balanced attack led Yulee over Harvest Community in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Everything went the Yulee Hornets' way against the Harvest Community Warriors as the Yulee Hornets made off with a 71-45 win. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 24 points or more this season.

Yulee found their leader in sophomore Chase Cannone, who went 6 for 12 en route to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Ben Newby, who posted seven points along with five assists and three steals.

Yulee was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harvest Community only racked up ten assists.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adam Lawson, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 19 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Mccartney, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Yulee and bumps their season record up to 14-8. As for Harvest Community, they dropped their record down to 10-15 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Yulee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-41 defeat against Fernandina Beach on the 31st. Harvest Community has also already played their next contest, a 65-62 win against Beaches Chapel on the 3rd.
