Basketball Recap: Whitehorse Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Whitehorse won the last time they faced Red Mesa and things went their way on Monday too. The Whitehorse Raiders secured a 56-52 W over the Red Mesa Redskins. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Whitehorse's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keiarra Martin, who posted 17 points. Martin's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Hannah Clark was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Several Redskins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shyla Pipkin, who scored 13 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Jones, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 boards.

Whitehorse's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Red Mesa, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-11 record.

Whitehorse will challenge Pinnacle at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Whitehorse is facing Pinnacle at the right time seeing as Pinnacle is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Red Mesa, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Fredonia at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fredonia will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Red Mesa surely won't give up without a fight.
