The Grace Christian Crusaders pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wesleyan Christian Academy.
Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ma'Kyi Butler, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jimmy Zimmerman, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Grace Christian's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Wesleyan Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 15-7 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grace Christian will take on Southern Wake Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Southern Wake Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups. As for Wesleyan Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Forsyth Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Forsyth Country Day will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
