The La Salle Lightning's's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on Wahluke with a sharp 28-7 win. The result was nothing new for La Salle, who have now won four contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
La Salle was led to victory by Jaiden James and Johan Valladares. James rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, while Valladares rushed for 120 yards on only nine carries. Tyler Do also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
La Salle's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Wahluke, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Salle will take on Naches Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Naches Valley is on a three-game streak of home wins, La Salle a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. As for Wahluke, they will head out on the road to face off against Kiona-Benton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Kiona-Benton comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
