After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wootton, the Quince Orchard Cougars were happy to have found some success on Friday. Everything went their way against Gaithersburg as Quince Orchard made off with a 52-27 victory. Quince Orchard pushed the score to 43-16 by the end of the third, a deficit the Trojans cut but never quite recovered from.
Quince Orchard was led to victory by Kelly Adams and Evelyn Steele. Adams scored 19 points, while Steele dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Adams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasey Rappaport, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and two steals.
The victory got Quince Orchard back to even at 9-9. As for Gaithersburg, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
Quince Orchard will head out on the road to challenge the Screamin' Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Seneca Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday. As for Gaithersburg, they will square off against the Titans at TBD on Monday. Einstein is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
