The Davie War Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the South Iredell Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Davie will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Davie is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 20-7 margin over R.J. Reynolds on Tuesday. The War Eagles haven't had any issues with the Demons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Hunter Potts, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Davie: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Allen, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Potts wasn't the only one making solid contact: Davie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, South Iredell entered their tilt with Mooresville on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 5-2.
Dylan Hughesman made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Brendan Blankenship looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Jake Crowley was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March.
Davie's record is now 8-12. As for South Iredell, their record now sits at 14-5.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Davie has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .461. However, it's not like South Iredell struggles in that department as they've averaged .454. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Davie came up short against South Iredell when the teams last played back in April of 2021, falling 5-1. Can the War Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
