Chatfield (Littleton, Colo.) jumped out to an early lead against
Dakota Ridge (Littleton, Colo.) and never looked back on the way to a 42-27 victory on Saturday.
In the first quarter, the Chargers put up six points. Chatfield scored on a passing touchdown.
After taking the lead on a touchdown in the first quarter, CHS was up 21-7 at the half.
The Chargers saw their 14-point halftime lead fall to 12 entering the fourth.
Kyle Winkler stood out for Chatfield in the win. The junior quarterback threw three touchdowns.
The defeat comes as a step back for Dakota Ridge, who notched a 51-6 victory over Golden in its previous outing. The win brought Chatfield's winning streak to three games.
Chatfield (3-0) goes up against Arvada West in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Dakota Ridge (1-2) locks horns with George Washington also in a non-conference game.
