After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Albuquerque Academy, the Hope Christian Huskies were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 50-33 win over Valley. That's another feather in the cap for Hope Christian, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Hope Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brookelynne Macias, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zo? Mangrum, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Tayton Gomez and Nevaeh Richardson. Gomez scored five points along with five rebounds, while Richardson scored seven points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Richardson has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last nine times she's played.
Valley struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Hope Christian racked up 14 assists.
Hope Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-12. As for Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Del Norte the next time they take the court. Valley will head out to face Del Norte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Hope Christian will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
