Kaplan waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Ponchatoula Green Wave. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by eight runs or more this season.

Kaplan pushed their record up to 22-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Ponchatoula, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kaplan will square off against St. Thomas More at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ponchatoula, they will take on Mandeville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ponchatoula's pitchers better be ready for this one: Mandeville has averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season.
